Chambers Confirms DFDL still Number One in Frontier Markets

Chambers and Partners have again ranked DFDL Legal & Tax as a ‘Band 1’ law firm in Cambodia, the Lao PDR and Myanmar for 2018, the only firm to be designated so in all three. DFDL also performed well in Thailand and Vietnam across a range practice areas. The top rankings match recent results from the Legal 500 directory and recognize the expertise that the firm offers in these key Southeast Asian frontier markets.

Consistent with the practice area results, a swathe of senior DFDL advisers were ranked in Chambers and Partners accordingly. DFDL Thailand Managing Director Audray Souche debuted in the Lao PDR General Business Law and Thailand Projects and Energy categories, reflecting her long experience leading teams in these practices. Also noteworthy is DFDL Cambodia Deputy Managing Director Chris Robinson who moved up to ‘Band 2’ in the Cambodia General Business Law rankings. Other senior advisers such as Martin Desautels, David Doran, Guillaume Massin, Walter Heiser, William Greenlee, James Finch, and Jerome Buzenet have all maintained good standings in the 2018 directory.

Chambers and Partners is the premier international legal directory and applies rigorous research, including interviews with peers and clients, to determine the rankings. One such interviewee noted that “The DFDL team has consistently provided us with sound legal opinions. They’re excellent.”
