On 7 September 2021, EuroCham Cambodia went forward with the third part of its Tax Summer Series focusing on “Transfer Pricing and Double Tax Agreements”.
The audience gained valuable knowledge and insights from the team of assembled speakers: Tayseng Ly (Co-Chairman, EuroCham Tax Committee and Managing Partner, HBS Law & Notary Office), Brendan James Lalor (Director of Transfer Pricing Services, Ernst & Young) and Clint O’Connell (Partner and Head of the Cambodia Tax Practice, DFDL). Together they went through the current Transfer Pricing and Double Tax Agreements regulatory framework in Cambodia.
Our Cambodia tax expert, Clint, addressed the importance of Double Tax Agreements (“DTA”) in reducing withholding taxes, identifying the thresholds for activities to create a taxable presence, providing a framework for resolving disputes and arbitration, and available mechanisms to exchange information between authorities. He also explained the Mutual Agreement Procedures (“MAP”) in resolving international tax disputes and common cases.
With over 160 attendees, the session ended with a 30-minute Q&A where the speakers addressed lots of highly topical, valid and meaningful queries from the audience.
