On 21 September 2021, Clint O’Connell (DFDL Partner, Cambodia Deputy Managing Director and Head of Tax Practice) participated in the final session of EuroCham Cambodia’s highly successful Tax Summer Series focusing on Capital Gains and Exit Taxes.
Clint addressed the tax implications of investing in Cambodia, subsequent exits from investments, and how to deal with the peculiarities of share transfers, asset transfers and business transfers among others. Kimsroy Chhiv (Tax Partner, Deloitte) elaborated on the capital gains tax framework, its exemptions, calculation methods and offered great insights on what can be expected from the introduction of this new tax.
The session ended with a Q&A session where the speakers addressed lots of highly topical, valid and thought-provoking queries from the audience.
