On 1 September 2021, Vinay Ahuja (Partner, Head of Regional Banking, Finance & Technology Practice & Head of Indonesia Practice, India Desk, DFDL) and Hanh Tran (Partner, Vietnam Deputy Managing Director & Head of Ho Chi Minh City Office), were pleased to participate in Source of Asia (“SOA“) live event “Exploring Business Opportunities in Vietnam & Indonesia” organized in cooperation with the Investment & Trade Promotion Center Ho Chi Minh City (“ITPC“) and Bright Indonesia.
Over 2 hours, a panel of industry experts discussed today’s business opportunities in Vietnam and Indonesia. His Excellency Mr. Denny Adbi, Ambassador of Indonesia in Vietnam opened this conference with key business facts on Indonesia and Vietnam. Bright Indonesia speaker provided the audience with an outlook of the growing sectors despite the pandemic in Indonesia. Source of Asia speakers gave an update on the current economy in Vietnam. Vinay and Hanh discussed in brief the legal and regulatory framework for local or foreign investors and highlight important requirements for the manufacturing sector. The event ended with an entrepreneurship case study with tips to avoid pitfalls and to get ready for any challenges when investing in Vietnam.
The event concluded with an engaging and illuminating Q&A session that was well received by the attendees.
