Just last week, on 12 September 2019, DFDL once again proudly sponsored the In-House Congress in Singapore which was organized by the In-House Community. The In-House Community is comprised of over 20,000 individual members and serves as a forum for the discussion of legal and compliance issues in Asia, the Middle East and North Africa with special events (such as this In-House Congress) taking place in various jurisdictions throughout the year.
There was a series of workshops throughout the full-day event where DFDL participants had the opportunity to share their knowledge on ‘Understanding Myanmar and Thailand Now: The Cumulative Effect of Laws, Regulations and Practice’. The session on Myanmar was led by William Greenlee (DFDL Partner and Managing Director of Myanmar) while Kraisorn Rueangkul (Partner of DFDL Thailand) led the session on Thailand. This concluded with a final segment on Data Privacy focusing on Employment within the Thai Regime by Marion Carles-Salmon (Head of Regional Employment and Labour Practice).
The session was very informative and well-received with many attendees coming forward to air their concerns and queries on the topics raised during the session. Following such an overwhelmingly positive response to this successful event, we look forward to sponsoring another In-House Congress in the future.
