On 23 July, DFDL Partner, Kraisorn Rueangkul led a panel discussion on digital assets hosted by the Thai Fintech Association in Bangkok. The event started with an informative presentation by Ms. Tipsuda Thavaramara, Deputy Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission on the history and importance of monitoring digital assets. This was followed by a panel discussion led by Kraisorn along with other legal experts from Baker & McKenzie and Tilleke & Gibbins. The session discussed concerns from business operators regarding the new law and the impact on businesses, how legal practitioners need to be ahead of their games and adapt to the fast changing laws in the digital field and possible future legal implications that may come into play in the world of digital assets. The event also hosted a mini exhibition showcasing many firms in the tech-start ups, fintech and cryptocurrency sectors.
