We are pleased to announce that the International Financial Law Review quoted James Finch, one of DFDL’s Partners in an article on Myanmar’s alleged revised foreign investment law.
The article discusses market participants’ reaction over an alleged new draft of Myanmar’s foreign investment law that was obtained and leaked by Reuters in March. According to the leaked draft, the government would, among other things, increase to five years the existing three-year tax exemption to foreign companies.
Jim was quoted as saying that the draft foreign investment law is consistent with earlier law but that it generally represents a liberalization of the provisions in the Myanmar Foreign Investment Law of 1988.
