On 13 February 2021, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (“KIIT”) School of Law, Odisha, India organized its first KWEETTALK on the topic “Evolving Opportunities in the Legal Profession.” Nishant Choudhary (DFDL Partner, Myanmar Deputy Managing Director and Deputy Head of Myanmar Banking and Finance Practice) was pleased to participate as a keynote speaker along with other industry experts: Jyoti Sagar (J.Sagar Associates Chairman and K&S Partners Founder Managing Partner), Pramod Rao (ICICI Bank Group General Counsel) and Sameer Parekh (Parekh & Co-Managing Partner). The 90 minute session was moderated by Professor Bhavani Prasad Panda (KIIT School of Law Director). During this session, the speakers gave KIIT law students an eye-opening introduction to current trends in the legal industry within India and the wider region. They discussed rapid evolutions pervasive across the legal profession over the past few years and likely emerging trends to watch out for in the coming years. During the various presentations and concluding Q&A session, the promising opportunities on offer were outlined to young practitioners in the field, along with exciting legal avenues that have opened up and sector-specific specializations worth exploring and pursuing in the current climate.
