Recap Event :

On March 9 and 10, DFDL Vietnam, in association with Auscham Vietnam, JLL and Aon Vietnam Ltd. hosted a seminar in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on “The Revival of South East Asian Manufacturing. What this means for Vietnam?”

Throughout the seminar, the keynote speakers provided an engaging and thought provoking discussion on South East Asia’s regional industrial and manufacturing markets, outlining the effects on specific industries and risk management factors for manufacturers in Vietnam. Jerome Buzenet, Managing Director, DFDL Vietnam, provided the rapt audience with a vibrant and comprehensive understanding of the legal and tax constraints and opportunities on manufacturing in the country. His talk also touched upon the many pitfalls of manufacturing faced by foreign investors in Vietnam, the shifting sands of regulatory compliance demanded by local authorities, and the challenges in meeting them. This discussion was given heightened clarity by illustrating case studies on options for investing in Vietnam, such as using an offshore holding company or by acquiring pre-existing land or production facilities.

The seminar was well-attended by a diverse spectrum of professionals and stakeholders representing a wide range of industries and sectors including real estate, education, automobiles, infrastructure and other commercial industries. These participants were able to share expertise and experience, while trading ideas and concerns about the topics under discussion, rendering the event an insightful and resounding success overall.
