DFDL Cambodia Holds 2019 Labor & Tax Forum

On 16 January 2019, DFDL Cambodia & Mercer hosted the 2019 Labor & Tax Forum at the Topaz Restaurant in Phnom Penh.

The Forum opened with our panel of experts, Clint O’Connell (tax) and Samnangvathana Sor (labor) providing an update on key recent labor and tax developments, including fortnightly payroll requirements and significant changes concerning individual taxation.

Mercer, represented by Jeanette Kwan and Yeo Derrick, followed with presentations on the key findings of its 2018 salary trend survey for Cambodia.

In the second part of the forum, Sokheng Say (accounting) and Samnangvathana Sor (labor), explained seniority pay calculations in detail working through a number of different scenarios.

The session was well received by the over 150 participants in attendance, finishing with an engaging Q&A session where those present at the seminar had enlightening and informative exchanges with our experts. This forum fully updated the participants on all the key labor and tax obligations and salary trends for 2019.
