DFDL Cambodia Hosts Tax and Labor Workshop for the Education Sector
On 17 October 2019, DFDL organized a morning seminar for the Cambodia Education Sector to discuss recent tax and labor changes, at Topaz Restaurant, Phnom Penh.
Vajiravann Chamnan, DFDL Cambodia Tax Manager, discussed recent tax changes affecting schools and gave a detailed overview of tax audits and tax appeal requirements to help the audience be compliant with these new tax requirements.
Chesda Teng, DFDL Cambodia Corporate and Commercial Senior Consultant, presented the recent labor law amendments affecting termination pay, calculation methods of certain benefits and the national minimum wage, as well as reforms to the National Social Security Fund scheme. He also gave an overview of the foreign employee quotas requirements, foreign employee work permits and visas.
The event concluded with a lively and engaging panel discussion and interactive Q&A session. The 50+ participants learned a great deal about the latest tax and labor developments in the education sector and gave very favorable feedback on this event.
