Cambodia – EU business dialogue and the launch of the White Book 2016

On 28 March 2016, EuroCham Cambodia organized the first ever Cambodia – EU Business Dialogue with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Cambodia. During the Dialogue, Guillaume Massin, EuroCham Vice-Chairman, introduced the EuroCham Business Confidence Survey 2015 and the 9 Sectorial Committees formally presented the White Book 2016, a set of policy recommendations designed to support the Royal Government in their efforts to improve the ease of doing business in Cambodia.

The event was joined by H.E. Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, Secretary General of the Council for the Development in Cambodia (CDC), H.E. Mr. George Edgar, Ambassador of the European Union to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Mr. Emmanuel Menanteau, Chairman of EuroCham Cambodia, H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana, Advisor to the Royal Government of Cambodia, relevant ministries, embassies and business associations.

Organized around a series of panel discussions, the Cambodia – EU Business Dialogue provided perspectives on Cambodia as an investor friendly destination for European businesses, highlighting Cambodia’s competitiveness within the new context of the ASEAN Economic Community.

H.E. Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea noted that the White Book is what the government expected from the private sector, referring it as constructive inputs. The Secretary General of CDC also encouraged the private sector in Cambodia to participate more in events and forums like Cambodia – EU Business Dialogue. The Dialogue was concluded by H.E. Dr. Sok Siphana’s closing remarks.
