We are excited to announce that Kristy Newby has been appointed Managing Director of DFDL Lao PDR, taking over from Rupert Haw effect from 1 August 2016.
During this transition, Kristy has already assumed the role of Deputy Managing Director for the Lao office. Kristy is no stranger to the Laos team, having been a Senior Adviser in Lao PDR for four years before leaving for our Vietnam office in 2014. Kristy is an outstanding legal practitioner. Before moving to the region, she served as a Solicitor with Minter Ellison, one of Australia’s most prestigious law firms. Kristy already has an in-depth knowledge of Laos, its laws, regulations and institutions so this will help for a smooth transition. Kristy’s full profile can be seen here.
Rupert Haw will be stepping down as the Managing Director of the Lao business unit with effect from 30 June. It has been a privilege to have Rupert part of the Lao team and through his tenure, DFDL remains the leading law firm in the country. Rupert will continue to be involved with DFDL as a part-time consultant.
DFDL would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Kristy on her new appointment and to acknowledge and give thanks to Rupert for his contribution in both roles as Deputy MD and as MD of DFDL Lao PDR.
