DFDL is very proud to announce the appointment of three new Partners, Vinay Ahuja, Clint O’Connell, and Ivy Liu to the Firm. Their appointments stand as a testament to their continued loyalty, dedication, and hard work, along with the remarkable efforts that they have made towards the overall success and growth of the Firm in recent years.

Vinay is based at DFDL’s Bangkok office and serves as the head of the firm’s India Desk. His core fields of expertise center on Banking and Finance, and he leads the firm’s banking practice group. With 13 years of transactional and advisory experience, over half of which has been spent in South East Asia with DFDL, Vinay has also advised and represented a vast spectrum of multinational clients in complex transactions related to Energy, Mining and Infrastructure, Information Technology, Agriculture and Plantations, Transport and Logistics, and Telecommunications. More recently, Vinay also serves as the chief point of contact at DFDL for all fintech-related matters, and he has been advising several clients operating in the realm of blockchain and cryptocurrencies, a domain that has witnessed meteoric growth in recent years, and which continues to expand rapidly.

Clint has served as a professional tax advisor in Cambodia for over ten years, during which time he has been directly involved in some of the largest commercial transactions in the region. His wide recognition in the field of taxation stems from advising a broad range of clients, from large globally-listed companies to small- and medium-sized businesses. A regular contributor to the International Tax Review and Bloomberg BNA’s Tax Planning International Asia-Pacific Focus journal, Clint is frequently sought out by South East Asian media organizations for his expertise on tax developments in Cambodia and across the region.

Ivy has practised law for over eight years in both China and Southeast Asia and serves as the Co-Head of the DFDL China Desk. She has developed extensive expertise in advising developers, lenders and contractors on deal structuring, due diligence, drafting and reviewing project and finance documents, implementation strategies and local compliance on a range of projects in the Energy, Mining and Infrastructure (EMI) Practice Group. She specializes in advising China-based clients on cross-border transactions, with a particular focus on energy projects.

Please join us in extending our wholehearted congratulations to the Firm’s newest Partners, and we wish them every success and good fortune, as DFDL continues its mission to thrive and expand in the coming years.
