Legal 500 Identifies DFDL as the Top-Tier Law Firm in SE Asia Frontier Markets

DFDL has again topped the Legal 500 rankings and is the only law firm to be designated ‘Tier 1’ in all three Mekong frontier markets: Cambodia, the Lao PDR and Myanmar. Strong rankings across a variety of practice areas in Thailand and Vietnam confirm DFDL as the premier firm in the region and recognize both the volume and complexity of pioneering matters that DFDL has advised on over the past year.

Similarly, senior DFDL advisers such as Martin Desautels and Chris Robinson (Cambodia), Kristy Newby and Walter Heiser (Lao PDR), and William Greenlee and James Finch (Myanmar) were all ranked ‘Tier 1’ in their respective jurisdictions. Daniel Wein (Cambodia) was also recognized as a ‘Next Generation Lawyer’.

The Legal 500 is one of the key international legal directories, along with Chambers and IFLR1000. The annual rankings are a result of in-depth research, including interviews with peers and clients in each practice area. One such interviewee noted that DFDL is ‘very helpful, responsive and conscious of business realities’ and ‘the firm is fast in analysing complicated business issues and offering practical solutions’.
