William’s practice focuses on M&A, corporate, banking, project finance and securities. He has extensive experience with international companies investing into Myanmar and Southeast Asia. Such investments include all sectors including power, infrastructure, oil and gas, banking (including fintech), manufacturing, education, and telecommunications. He has advised on Myingyan, the first internationally tendered power project in Myanmar. He is involved in negotiating, structuring, documenting and managing large transactions for private equity and opportunity-fund companies and other international companies throughout Asia.
He holds a B.A. degree from the University of Oregon in Asian Studies with a minor in East Asian Literature and Journalism. William also has a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco, California. As well as running the DFDL Myanmar offices, William co-heads the firm’s regional China Desk, which acts as a hub for Chinese investment into Myanmar, Southeast Asia and South Asia. He is a US-qualified attorney, licensed in California and Nevada.
