On 30 May 2025, the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Planning (the “MOIT“) issued Decision No. 1509/QD-BCT on approving the plan to implement the adjusted National Power Development Plan for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050 (“Decision 1509”), with immediate effect. Accordingly, the plan attached to Decision 1509 (“Adjusted PDP 8 Implementation Plan”) aims to:
- effectively implement the adjusted National Power Development Plan for the period of 2021 – 2030, with a vision to 2050 under Decision No. 768/QD-TTg dated 15 April 2025 issued by the Prime Minister of Vietnam (“Adjusted PDP 8”);
- identify solutions to attract investment in power development according to the Adjusted PDP8; and
- assign tasks to relevant ministries, sectors, and people’s committees of centrally governed provinces and cities to coordinate with the MOIT and relevant units to effectively implement the Adjusted PDP 8.
