DFDL’s Thailand Dispute Resolution team recently secured an emergency interim injunction in a complex contractual dispute involving significant claims valued at tens of millions of Thai Baht.
Facing an immediate risk to the client’s ability to recover its claim, the team acted swiftly and strategically. Within a single day, DFDL filed a civil claim, submitted an urgent application for interim injunction, obtained an expedited court hearing, appeared before the court, and successfully secured an order attaching assets to preserve the client’s position pending determination of the dispute.
This result is particularly significant given the exceptional nature of interim injunctions in contractual disputes under Thai law. Such relief is granted only in limited circumstances and requires compelling evidence of both the merits of the claim and the urgency of court intervention. Securing an injunction on the same day as filing is uncommon and reflects the strength of the legal strategy, supporting evidence, and advocacy presented to the court.
The outcome demonstrates the team’s ability to respond effectively to urgent and high-stakes situations while navigating complex procedural requirements to protect client interests.
