DFDL was the highest ranked of all Southeast Asian firms, entering the ranking FT Law 25 at number 13 of the top 25 ranked firms in Asia Pacific. In the category Business of Law, DFDL came in at fifth place of all firms based in the Asia Pacific region, receiving the “Highly Commended” recognition.
Finally, in the category of Finance, DFDL came in at № 7 of 25 ranked firms in Asia Pacific. DFDL received high numbers in the category for its innovative work of the past year on the first non-recourse lending project in Myanmar (PAMEL) and the first non-recourse, domestic supply hydropower project in the Lao PDR (Nam Lik 1).

Nearly 500 submissions from 114 law firms in the region were received and hundreds of interviews were conducted with clients, experts and lawyers to determine the shortlist. More than 300 clients, senior lawyers and executives gave feedback and discussed the most innovative law firms and lawyers in the region with the research team.
