The article focuses on the new Myanmar Companies Law. Commercial law experts in Myanmar have welcomed the liberalizing impact of this new Law, which is widely expected to increase transparency and improve corporate governance in the country’s garment and textile manufacturing sectors. Nishant highlighted a key element of the new law which removes the previous requirement for companies to have a fixed and rigid set of business objectives. As he observed: “The flexibility of the company’s constitution with no mandatory business objectives is another feature that will open the door to increased investment.”
