Senior Regional Adviser; Head – TMT Division and DFDL India Desk, Vinay Ahuja, participated as a moderator at FTTH APAC Conference 2016 held on 17– 18 May 2016 at the Shangri-La Hotel in Bangkok. Vinay moderated the session on “India: The Steps to Creating the Digital India” held on 18 May 2016 at 12:40pm – 1:10pm. He was joined by other experts in the IT sector. The session discussed the following issues:
- Status and steps being taken by the Government to implement “National Fibre Optic Network” involving deployment of 250,000 kms of Fibre
- How is India developing their Smart City initiative?
- What are the current developments in urban and rural deployments?
Hosted by The FTTH Council Asia-Pacific, a non-profit organization aiming to educate both the public and industry on the opportunities and benefits of optical fiber, over 400 attendees representing both the public and private sectors convened to update the trends and opportunities in optical fiber industry.
