Resource Curse or Resource Blessing?

11-13 June  2013 – Bangkok

As resource-rich countries throughout Southeast Asia begin to tap in to their natural weatlh, ensuring that extraction and development are conducted in a responsible manner becomes essential. This three day conferene examined this issue from four perspectives, starting with the most basic reasons for worrying about and expending effort on resource-based development. Additionally, speakers and panelists at the conference examined optimal methods for managing resource economies for development, community-oriented approaches to sustainable development, and private sector development in the context of a resource economy.

Henri-Frederic Hibon, Senior Adviser, Energy, Mining & Infrastructure and Mergers & Acquisitions Practice Groups, spoke at this conference in Bangkok which explored the development of resources in Southeast Asia.

His presentation focused on mining and the natural resources industry in the countries we are active in.
