Danyel Thomson, Head of the Regional Employment Practice Group, delivered a seminar as part of the Mercer post-salary survey meeting in Yangon, Myanmar on 5 December 2017. The presentation focused on the importance of clear and legally compliant documentation in forming the basis of a productive and mutually supportive employment relationship, and the best, most practical ways of achieving this in Myanmar. Danyel informed the audience members about important updates to the standard employment contract template, the importance of including certain non-legally required policies within HR documentation, and the necessity of understanding the country context and culture when preparing and implementing internal rules and policies. The seminar was well-received by those in attendance and built further upon the foundation of a solid working relationship with Mercer.
