For the third consecutive year, DFDL congratulates Nishant Choudhary, a Partner and Managing Director of DFDL Myanmar, for being re-elected as a board member of the India-Myanmar Chamber of Commerce (“IMCC”) in Yangon.
The India-Myanmar Chamber was established in 2017 as a non-profit organization focused on boosting bilateral trade between Myanmar and India. The Chamber’s goal is to promote closer economic ties between the two nations by working towards increasing the bilateral trade to US$5 billion from the present estimated value of US$ 2 billion. After electing 16 board members for the 2022-2024 mandate on 19 March 2022, the chamber will now work through its new executive committee to facilitate access to the Myanmar market and promote its investment opportunities. The IMCC Executive Committee is a 20-member group elected from the business leaders from India and Myanmar. Many of them have worked in Myanmar for many years and have graciously volunteered their skills and experience to help nurture bilateral economic ties.
As one of the leading legal professionals advising on Myanmar matters, Nishant has been contributing his expertise with IMCC and its members in a bid to develop Myanmar and India economic relationship.
