It was a great start to the week as our Corporate Partner Bin Hau Lee and Associate Caroline Gan of Robin Lynn & Lee, arrived bright and early in Penang to attend the grand opening of Vivax-Metrotech Corporation’s (VXMT) new RM48 million manufacturing facility in Batu Kawan. VXMT is a global leader in advanced utility locating and inspection technologies and our lawyers have been working closely with Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), Invest Penang and VXMT’s team over the past 10 months to bring this project to a successful completion.
Deputy Chief Minister II, YB Jagdeep Singh Deo, officiated the opening of the facility, which is set to create 175 high-skilled jobs for the local community and significantly boost production capacity to meet the growing global demand. This milestone also aligns with the 13th Malaysia Plan and supports the objectives of the New Industrial Master Plan 2030.
“We are honoured to have the opportunity to work alongside high-technology leaders like VXMT, sharing the same vision of advancing Malaysia’s high technology industrial development. The establishment of VXMT will continue to boost FDI in Malaysia, and in particular the E&E industry in Penang by attracting various supply chain of VXMT to set-up their manufacturing hubs in Malaysia,” said Bin Hau.
