Woan Na Ng is a Regional Senior Legal Adviser and represents our China Desk. She is also an active member of our Thailand and Lao PDR offices.
Her principal areas of practice are banking and finance, compliance and investigations, corporate and commercial, M&A, capital markets and real estate.
She has years of practicing law in Malaysia, advising both local and international firms on a range of corporate and real estate transactions involving M&A, take-overs, rights issues, projects development and general legal advice.
Woan Na regularly assists the Lao team and advises both local and foreign financial institutions and project sponsors in an array of domestic and cross-border financing transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
As a member of DFDL’s China Desk, Woan Na is actively involved in assisting clients in foreign direct investment and cross-border projects. Her clients include publicly listed companies, multinational corporations as well as Chinese tech firms and energy operators.
Woan Na was appointed as the director of the Malaysian-Thai Chamber of Commerce in 2021 and represented the chamber as a panel speaker in the Indochina Malaysian Business Chambers E-Summit in 2021 and 2022.
She presented and moderated a series of DFDL videos on the data protection regime in Thailand and a legal guide to data breaches and ransomware attacks across Southeast Asia, all of which are available on the DFDL website.
Woan Na holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of London and a Certificate in Legal Practice (Malaysia).
