We would like to inform our readers that today the General Department of Taxation (“GDT“) has announced under Notification 24094 that following a submission to the Ministry of Economy and Finance which was subsequently approved by Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Kingdom of Cambodia on the 9th of October 2020 the government has decided to postpone the implementation date for the capital gains tax until 1 January 2022 in order to give taxpayers and the public sufficient time to understand how capital gains tax will apply and ensure that it is implemented smoothly.
