August 20, 2025 marks a historic milestone for Cambodia’s real estate cum hospitality sector. Hotel101 Global, the first Nasdaq-listed Filipino-owned company, and Canopy Sands Development Co., Ltd., a leading Cambodian real estate developer, have entered into a landmark agreement to develop two Hotel101 projects in Cambodia. Upon completion, these projects are set to rank among the largest condominium-hotels in the country by room capacity setting new benchmarks for integrated design, operational efficiency, and investment accessibility.
This successful transaction was led by Partner Nishant Choudhary, along with Partner Guillaume Massin, and the wider DFDL team including Partner Denora Sarin, Tax Partner Diberjohn Balinas, Partner Davy Kong, Senior Consultant Simon Burlinson, and others. The team advised throughout the entire process, providing comprehensive support on due diligence, advisory on regulatory matters, drafting of definitive agreements, and other key aspects of the deal.
This first-of-its-kind investment in Cambodia is scheduled for completion by 2028. Beyond redefining the hospitality landscape, the projects are expected to significantly contribute to Cambodia’s economy by creating jobs, attracting foreign investment, and boosting tourism. “We are honoured to have the opportunity to work alongside respected industry leaders such as Hotel101 Global Pte.
